Founded by Think Donson Co-Founder Felicia Donson in honor of her late mother, Mom’s Book Nook began with a simple idea: one book can make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
What started as a mother-daughter passion project has grown into a community-driven literacy initiative that has donated thousands of books to children and families throughout the Sarasota and Suncoast area.
Why It Matters
Books do more than teach children how to read. They build imagination, confidence, comfort, and connection.
For many children, owning a book can be a meaningful first step toward feeling seen, encouraged, and excited to learn. A story can offer comfort during a difficult season, spark curiosity, or become something a child returns to again and again.
Through partnerships with nonprofits, shelters, early learning centers, healthcare organizations, and family support programs, Mom’s Book Nook helps provide children with books they can read, keep, and call their own.
