More Than Marketing: How Think Donson Gives Back Through Mom’s Book Nook

At Think Donson, our work has always been rooted in connection.

As a Sarasota-based marketing agency, we help businesses grow through thoughtful strategy, branding, website design, digital marketing, social media, SEO, paid advertising, and creative storytelling. Every project we take on is built around helping businesses communicate clearly, show up with confidence, and connect with the people they serve.

But for us, connection has never stopped at marketing.

It also means being part of the community around us. It means using our creativity, resources, relationships, and platform to support work that matters beyond business. That belief is one of the reasons Mom’s Book Nook holds such a special place in the heart of Think Donson.

Mom’s Book Nook is our community outreach initiative, created by Think Donson Co-Founder Felicia Donson to help place books directly into the hands of children and families throughout our community. What began as a deeply personal mission to share the joy of reading has grown into something meaningful, lasting, and close to our hearts.

At its core, Mom’s Book Nook reflects the same values that guide Think Donson every day: connection, compassion, creativity, and purpose.

A Personal Mission with a Lasting Purpose

The story behind Mom’s Book Nook began long before it became a formal outreach initiative.

Felicia’s mother, Elaine Rothberg, was a retired nurse from Sarasota Memorial Hospital whose life was rooted in care, service, and generosity. She had a heart for helping others, especially children, and she found joy in giving back wherever there was a need.

Together, Felicia and her mother discovered the joy of volunteering and community service. Through that shared commitment, they connected with a close family friend, a retired teacher whose classroom became the beginning of something much larger.

What started as an effort to help build and refresh a classroom library soon grew into a mission to place books directly into students’ hands. Felicia and her mother wanted children to have books they could take home, enjoy during holiday breaks, read over the summer, and keep as their own.

The response from the students was unforgettable.

Children became excited about reading. Waiting lists formed for books. Students wrote thank-you notes expressing how much the books meant to them. Those small handwritten messages became a powerful reminder that giving a child a book is not a small thing.

A book can offer comfort. It can spark imagination. It can build confidence. It can help a child feel seen, encouraged, and connected to something bigger.

That experience became the foundation for Mom’s Book Nook.

Why This Mission Belongs at Think Donson

For Think Donson, Mom’s Book Nook is not separate from who we are as a business. It is an extension of it.

We believe strong businesses are built on more than services and deliverables. They are built on trust, relationships, consistency, and care. The same principles that help brands grow are also the principles that help communities thrive.

That is why Mom’s Book Nook fits so naturally within Think Donson’s mission.

As a marketing agency, we understand the power of a clear message. We know how much visibility matters. We know that stories need to be shared with intention if they are going to reach the right people and inspire action.

Mom’s Book Nook gives us the opportunity to use those strengths for something deeply meaningful.

Through branding, storytelling, website visibility, social media, outreach materials, and community partnerships, Think Donson helps support and grow the mission of Mom’s Book Nook. Our role is to help amplify the heart of the initiative while keeping the focus where it belongs: on the children, families, and organizations being served.

This is not about turning a personal mission into a corporate campaign. It is about giving that mission the support, structure, and visibility it needs to reach more people.

More Than Donating Books

At first glance, Mom’s Book Nook may seem simple: collect books, donate books, give books to children.

But the mission is much deeper than that.

Books do more than help children learn to read. They help children imagine, dream, process emotions, build language, ask questions, and see the world in new ways. For a child, owning a book can feel special. It becomes something they can return to again and again. It becomes theirs.

That sense of ownership matters.

Mom’s Book Nook is focused on helping children and families receive books they can read, keep, and love. Through local partnerships, books are shared with organizations that already serve children in meaningful ways, including schools, nonprofits, early learning centers, healthcare-connected programs, shelters, youth organizations, and family support programs.

This partnership-based approach is important because it allows books to reach children through trusted spaces. A book may be handed to a child by a teacher, caregiver, counselor, volunteer, healthcare worker, or community partner who already understands the child’s environment and needs.

That makes the impact more personal.

Each book becomes part of a larger network of care, encouragement, and support.

The Role of Community Partnerships

Community work is strongest when it is shared.

Mom’s Book Nook has grown through relationships with people and organizations that believe in the importance of literacy, childhood development, family support, and access to meaningful resources. These partnerships help ensure that books are not just collected, but placed with intention.

At Think Donson, we believe in building long-term relationships. That is true in our client work, and it is true in our outreach work.

Successful marketing is never just about one campaign or one post. It is about understanding people, building trust, and creating consistency over time. In the same way, meaningful community outreach is not about a single donation or one moment of generosity. It is about ongoing commitment.

Mom’s Book Nook represents that kind of commitment.

It allows Think Donson to support children and families in a way that is personal, practical, and rooted in connection. Every partnership helps the mission grow. Every donated book helps expand access. Every shared story helps more people understand why this work matters.

Creativity with Purpose

Think Donson was built around creative strategy.

We help businesses tell their stories, strengthen their brands, and reach their audiences. We create websites, campaigns, visuals, and messaging that help organizations communicate more effectively. But creativity is most powerful when it has a purpose behind it.

Mom’s Book Nook reminds us of that.

The same creative tools we use every day can also help bring attention to a cause, invite people to participate, and turn a personal story into a community movement. A well-designed page can help someone understand how to donate. A clear social post can encourage someone to share the mission. A thoughtful blog can help a local organization see an opportunity to partner. A strong brand presence can make an outreach initiative feel trustworthy, welcoming, and easy to support.

That is the kind of creativity Think Donson believes in.

Creativity should not only make something look good. It should help something meaningful move forward.

What Mom’s Book Nook Says About Business

For us, Mom’s Book Nook is also a reminder of what business can be.

A business can serve its clients well and still make room for community care. It can focus on growth and still stay grounded in generosity. It can use its platform not only to promote services, but also to support causes that reflect its values.

That balance matters.

At Think Donson, we are proud to help businesses grow. We believe in strategy, measurable results, clear communication, and strong digital presence. But we also believe that the best businesses understand their role in the community around them.

Mom’s Book Nook gives us a way to live that belief.

It honors Felicia’s mother and the legacy of giving that helped inspire the initiative. It supports children and families through access to books. It strengthens relationships with local organizations. And it reminds us that the work we do every day — storytelling, design, strategy, communication — can be used in service of something bigger.

One Child. One Book. One Story at a Time.

The heart of Mom’s Book Nook is simple.

Every child deserves access to stories that inspire, comfort, and encourage them.

That belief began with a mother and daughter, a classroom library, and a shared love of giving back. Today, it continues through Think Donson’s community outreach, local partnerships, book donations, and the support of people who believe in the power of reading.

For Think Donson, this initiative is close to our hearts because it reflects who we are and what we value. It is about more than donating books. It is about connection. It is about compassion. It is about helping children feel supported, seen, and inspired.

As Mom’s Book Nook continues to grow, we are grateful for every person, business, author, organization, and community partner who helps carry the mission forward.
